The Court of Appeal handed down a significant judgement favouring the United Advocates’ client (a father) after the court of the first instance ruled in favour of the ex-wife. The decision clearly stated with legal authority that gifts and the high cost of furnishing allowance of the house cannot fall within the alimony obligation payable after a divorce. In addition, the court adopted the view to limit the alimony payable to children without any source of income only.
